Consumer Car Loan

A consumer car loan is designed specifically to help individuals purchase a vehicle—whether new or used, dealer sale or private sale. It allows you to borrow the money needed to buy the car and repay it over time.

These loans are usually secured by the car itself, which often means lower interest rates compared to unsecured loans. You’ll agree to a set repayment term (usually between 1–7 years) and make regular payments that include both principal and interest. Payments can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on your preference and payment cycle.

In addition to cars, a wide range of other vehicles and recreational assets can be funded using the same loan structure. This includes boats, bikes, caravans, trailers, and other recreational assets. Again these can be new or used, dealer or private.

Unsecured lending refers to loans that do not require any form of collateral—such as a vehicle or property—to secure the funds. Instead, approval is based on the borrower’s credit history, income, and overall financial profile.

Originally from London, Chris moved to Adelaide in 2016 and now proudly calls it home. He holds a degree in Business and Economics, along with a Certificate IV and Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking. In 2022, he was honoured to be named FBAA Commercial Asset and Equipment Finance Broker of the Year—recognition for his dedication to tailored, effective finance solutions.

Chris is all about creating genuine connections and working collaboratively to make finance more accessible and straightforward.

When he’s not working, you’ll find him following Arsenal FC, playing cricket in the Adelaide Hills, or walking his dogs along the beach.

Nick Jones is a Senior Consumer Strategist at Magnolia Lane, with seven years of experience in asset and personal loan finance. He specializes in asset lending and is known for his ability to build genuine, long-term relationships with clients. With a strong foundation in consumer finance lending, Nick takes a thoughtful, client-first approach to helping individuals navigate their financial options. 

Nick’s professional motto is “Know your client.” Every relationship built is based on discovering what is most important to the client and working on achieving their goals through a friendly, honest and professional approach.

His qualifications include a Certificate IV in Finance, complemented by a background as a qualified Personal Trainer—highlighting his passion for both personal growth and empowering others.

Outside of work, Nick is dedicated to the fitness industry, keeping up to date with the latest movies and spending quality time with his family and friends. His approachable style and strong technical knowledge make him a valuable part of the Magnolia Lane team.

Daniel is an experienced Finance Broker with over a decade of expertise in mortgage and asset finance.

With more than 10 years of experience in sales and customer service roles, Daniel is dedicated to connecting clients with the right financial solutions using the right tools. His personal goal is to simplify the customer journey toward their financial objectives, drawing on his deep knowledge of the finance industry and a talent for crafting innovative, out-of-the-box solutions.

Daniel’s career has seen him work with some of the largest names in the industry. He previously worked for the leading equity release broker in the UK, gaining invaluable experience in that niche market. Later, he spent 6 years at Loan Market Group, Australia’s largest aggregator, with more than 6,000 brokers, where he honed his skills in loan brokering and client service.

Outside of the office, Daniel has a passion for exploring new cultures through travel. After leaving the UK, he travelled extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas before settling in Australia.

When he’s not helping others achieve their financial goals, you’ll likely find him on the tennis court or spending quality time with his grandson.
